SCRANTON, PA (08/01/2011)(readMedia)-- University of Scranton Student Orientation Leaders Patrick Cassidy '13 of Worcester, Maria Marx '12 and Colin Holmes '13 of Scranton are spending their summer preparing to make more than 1,000 incoming students feel at home in Scranton. The team of three led more than 50 student orientation assistants in four July sessions designed to introduce new students and their families to the University's procedures, facilities and support services, as well as to provide them with the opportunity to meet with faculty, administrators, staff – and each other. The leaders are now planning to smoothly move-in and transition the freshmen students to campus life when they arrive on Aug. 27.

Cassidy is communication major with a minor in entrepreneurship. He is a member of the University's Programming Board, a student supervisor at the Byron Recreation Complex and a D.J. at the University's radio station (WUSR). He also participates with University Ministries.
