PAUL SMITHS, NY (10/18/2016)(readMedia)-- The Paul Smith's College golf team earned its second title in as many years this past weekend in the Yankee Small College Conference Championship at Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, N.H.

The hardware didn't stop there. The Bobcats also took home the conference's Sportsman of the Year award while head coach Rod Bushey was named Coach of the Year for the 2016 season.

"This magnificent honor is a tribute to how much heart, class, integrity and pride this team has shown not only this year but since we started our program last year," said Bushey.

Paul Smith's was led by Jared McAllister's 84, followed closely by Sonny Kentile (86), Jon Herrman (88), Mike Gardeneer (90) and Taylor West (91).

The Bobcats' team score of 348 was 19 strokes ahead of runners-up New Hampshire Technical Institute and Southern Maine Community College.

Matthew Merritt and Hayden Kline also competed, while Hunter Weber, Garrett Pembroke, Ben McInerney, Sean Conroy and assistant coach Tom Cotter rounded out this year's roster.

"It's always hard to win a championship, let alone repeat and win two years in a row," added Bushey. "Awesome job."
