MILTON , MA (11/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Curry College is pleased to announce that Pawtucket, RI resident Marissa Mancini, daughter of Dianne and Dr. Thomas Mancini, takes her final college theatre bow in a major leading role. Currently General Manager of Curry Theatre, Marissa has been seen on the Curry Theatre stage in The Mousetrap, Twisted Tales, Peanute Galleria, Lives of the Great Waitress, English Made Simple, Calcutta, and Bat Boy: The Musical. She completed a successful internship at New Hampshire's Interlakes Theatre in costuming last summer. And she is now in rehearsal as a character who never leaves the stage. It's the coveted role of Susan in Alan Ayckbourn's Woman in Mind.
Knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1997, Sir Alan Ayckbourn is the most widely produced playwright in England, second only to William Shakespeare. His darkly humorous Woman in Mind sees the action of the play through Susan's eyes, as her mundane reality collides with her active fantasy life. Is it a dream turned to nightmare, or a witty and imaginative woman, driven to distraction? Between gasps and guffaws, audience members decide for themselves. But there will be no question, as to the talents of Ms. Mancini, as she takes them through to the twisted, but not bitter, end.
This wildly unpredictable comedy tumbles across the stage on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; Dec 1st through 4th at 7:30 p.m. at Curry College, in the Oscar B. and Frances A. Keith Auditorium at the Academic and Performance Center on the Milton Campus, 1071 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved at 617-333-2259 (Option 2).
