The Personal Training Micro-credential is comprised of one course, PED 273, which provides hands-on training in pre-exercise assessment, flexibility assessment, resistance training techniques, and cardiovascular training techniques. The Micro-credential introduces the design of an individualized workout plan for varying populations.
Additional skills include:
Identify aspects of functional anatomy of the human body as they relate to personal training.
Identifying physiological energy systems.
Identify the impact nutrition has on training.
Measure physiological data such as: body composition, body mass index or bioelectrical impedance.
Evaluate pre-exercise screening tools to assess a client's readiness for exercise participation.
Design training programs for clients based on a client's current fitness level and training goals.
Identify strategies for losing or gaining weight
