RIPON, WI (06/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Petra Jones of Huntington Park will be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Citation at Ripon College during its annual alumni awards banquet Friday, June 22. Jones is a 1982 alumna of the college, which is located in East Central Wisconsin.
Jones has been a teacher at Gage Middle School in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 25 years, where she has been a union chapter chair and co-chair. She has also been heavily involved with the AIDS Walk Los Angeles; she and her students have won multiple volunteer of the year awards for their contributions.
