WEST HARTFORD, CT (09/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Philip Grover of Middletown, executive assistant to the dean of The Hartt School at the University of Hartford, was honored with an Outstanding Staff Member Award at the University's annual Faculty/Staff Kickoff on Wednesday Aug 29. The award recognizes individuals who are exceptionally dedicated to the University of Hartford and who play a critical role in the success of the institution and its students.
Grover's work goes far beyond improving the dean's office. His professionalism has caught the attention of everyone he assists, from alumni to donors to students and their families. He spends time with concerned parents and students, listening, empathizing, and doing his best to make sure their issues are resolved.
In addition to circulating vital information to the entire Hartt community, he has created a website for Hartt's board and has designed note cards, letters, orientation booklets, and planning documents. Through it all, he displays a generous spirit and quiet warmth, and continues to be friendly and eager to serve.
Grover frequently arranges colleagues into committees to help identify staff training needs and barriers to productivity. He has contributed his skills toward advisory board meetings, retreats, alumni engagements, and the dean's lunches with students. He arranged receptions and VIP accommodations for the unveiling of The Hartt School's Jack Elliott Collection of American Music in 2012. In all that he does, Grover conveys a professional, positive image.
