Philosopher to Discuss Hegel’s Atheism

BROCKPORT, NY (11/06/2008)(readMedia)-- Philosophy professor Andrew Levine, PhD, will speak on "Atheism: Young Hegelian Style" at 4:30 pm, Thursday, November 13, in room 220 of the Seymour College Union on The College at Brockport campus.

Levine also will deliver another talk on "Karl Marx and Alienated Labor" on Friday, November 14 at 10:45 am, in the same location.

Both talks are free and open to the public.

Levine is a research professor at the University of Maryland at College Park. His principal research interests include political philosophy and the philosophy of the social sciences. He has written extensively on recent liberal theory and on historical figures including Marx, Rousseau, Hobbes, Locke, and Mill. He also serves as a senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC

Levine's talk is presented by The College at Brockport's Center for Philosophic Exchange, a Department of Philosophy lecture series which brings first-rate philosophers to speak at The College at Brockport.
