Phoenix House New York Celebrates New Art Studio & Community Wellness Space at Brooklyn Recovery Center

Following the debut of its art exhibit specially curated by local artists in recovery, Phoenix House expands its art-based healing offerings with new studio and wellness space at Brooklyn location

BROOKLYN, NY (06/17/2025) (readMedia)-- On Wednesday, June 18, Phoenix House New York's Brooklyn Community Recovery Center (BKCRC) invites community members to an open-house and ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebrating its new art studio and community wellness space - a dedicated haven for creative expression and holistic healing for residents in recovery from substance use. The event will feature a peer professional workshop at 3:30pm for local recovery providers to explore treatment strategies and art therapy supplements, followed by the ceremony at 5:30pm. Attendees will receive copies of Phoenix House's first-ever recovery-centered magazine, ReCenter. BKCRC will additionally offer community members free overdose reversal medication from its new narcan vending machine.

In 2023, 6.9 out of 1,000 patients had a suspected opioid overdose, and 6.2 out of 1,000 patients received emergency narcan, according to emergency dispatch data from the Office of Addiction Services and Supports. In the same year, Brooklyn accounted for 23% of the city's opioid overdose deaths, with nearly 700 fatal overdoses.

Tomorrow, Phoenix House’s Brooklyn Community Recovery Center will host an open-house and ribbon cutting ceremony unveiling its new art studio and community wellness space for residents in recovery. Guests will also receive a copy of Phoenix House’s new, recovery-centered magazine, ReCenter.
