SCHENECTADY, NY (08/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson's (PPMH) board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Bowman Kim Atkins as CEO.
"We welcome Kim Atkins' experience and leadership," said Roberta Steiner, chair, PPMH board of directors. "His commitment to Planned Parenthood's mission and results-oriented approach will help ensure our organization's sustainable growth in a challenging and changing health care industry."
Atkins brings a wealth of executive level experience in non-profit financing and systems, specializing in family planning and community health. He was the senior vice president for NYC's Community Healthcare Network and, most recently, served as deputy executive director/CFO at AIDS Service Center NYC.
"I value Planned Parenthood's vital role in protecting reproductive rights and making health services affordable and available to all who need them," states Atkins. "I look forward to working with our dedicated board, staff and supporters to build on new opportunities in this time of change. Atkins attended Cornell University where he earned a master's degree in Anthropology and conducted doctorate research in Thailand. He holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University.
A Washington County resident for more than 10 years, Mr. Atkins will maintain his office in Schenectady.
