UTICA, NY (12/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson received a $5,000 Community Empowerment Grant from the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area to help improve access to health care.
This funding supports the purchase of a power examination table that helps PPMH better provide reproductive health care services to individuals with special needs. One in five individuals have some kind of disability, such as a temporary injury, obesity, pregnancy, chronic health condition, permanent physical limitation or other special need. Patients with a disability receive equal access to care and their dignity is preserved.
Planned Parenthood serves over 3,500 family planning patients in the greater Utica area.
