SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (04/09/2015)(readMedia)-- Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson (PPMH) proudly announces the addition of hormone therapy to medical services available to transgender patients ages 18 and older. Hormone services are offered exclusively at Planned Parenthood's A.C. Riley Center located at 236 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs.

"Planned Parenthood is a safe place for all patients to get the quality health care they need and the respect and support they deserve," stated Bowman Kim Atkins, PPMH CEO. "Planned Parenthood is part of the LGBT community. We are committed to improving transgender health care in the Capital Region."

Why choose Planned Parenthood?

Patients trust Planned Parenthood for birth control, testing, wellness exams, cancer screening, abortion care, sexual assault support services and more. Hormone therapy complements these services and helps meet a need in the community.

Transgender patients often face ignorance and discrimination in accessing health care. Many providers have little training and experience with trans people and their health needs.

"The Planned Parenthood experience is more than quality health care, stated Eileen Lawson, health center director for PPMH's Saratoga and Clifton Park health centers. "Planned Parenthood empowers our transgender patients to be their healthiest and happiest selves," Lawson stated.
