LA MIRADA, CA (05/13/2014)(readMedia)-- Two weeks after signing three-point ace Danielle Kennedy, Biola women's basketball further strengthens its backcourt of the future by getting a commitment from DeMoria White. The St. Bernard's High School point guard brings an exceptionally well-rounded game to the Eagles, averaging 18.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 5.8 apg and 2.1 spg. Her play earned her first team all-league recognition and her season was highlighted by a 39-point explosion in a January come-from-behind win.
"Mori is a great addition to the Biola Women's Basketball program," said Head Coach Dr. Bethany Miller. "She is the type of player who makes everyone around her better. She is solid in her ball handling abilities, quick and a great playmaker. Her basketball IQ is strong, and she comes from playing for a great coach, Michelle Greco, at St. Bernard's High School."
Biola is excited to welcome White to its classrooms, as she earned scholar-athlete recognition while playing for St. Bernard's, and she is graduating with honors.
"She is a great fit for Biola in her faith and high academic caliber," said Miller. "We expect great things from Mori."
