HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (04/19/2011)(readMedia)-- Hampden-Sydney College senior Pranay Ryan Reddy presented his Departmental Honors Project recently in a public lecture at the College. Pranay is one of a select group of seniors who undertook an extended research project which culminated in a public presentation. Although the departmental honors students are undergraduates, they are expected to pursue their research project at a graduate-school level. Each project is evaluated on its originality, on the thoroughness of its research methods, and on the quality of the final presentation.

Pranay's project, for Honors in Biology, was entitled "Characterization of the Murine Melanoma Cell Lines B16-F1 and D5.1G4: A Model System for Investigating Immune Regulation by Highly Tumorigenic versus Poorly Tumorigenic Melanomas." A biology major, Pranay is a graduate of Forsyth Country Day School and is the son of Dr. & Mrs. Ravi Reddy of Winston-Salem.
