Queen Nwafor Performs in Spring Dance Concert at Washington College

CHESTERTOWN, MD (05/09/2012)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Queen U. Nwafor, daughter of Jasper and Sarah Nwafor of Orange, NJ, has recently performed in the Spring Dance Concert at Washington College. The concert featured student dancers who performed a variety of dances, choreographed almost entirely by students, in Decker Theater in the Gibson Center for the Arts. Nwafor performed in the jazz piece "In Loving Memory Of..." and the contemporary piece "Children of the Revolution."

Nwafor is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Dance. She is a member of the Black Student Union, Campus Christian Fellowship, Student Government Association's Diversity Board, and Alternative Dance Workshop. Nwafor graduated from the Marylawn of the Oranges Academy.

Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
