Quin Nelson of Mill Creek Wins Hosokawa Journalism Award

WALLA WALLA, WA (04/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Quin Nelson of Mill Creek, Wash., recently won a Hosokawa Award in the Sports category. The award was delivered by Terry Tang, deputy editorial page editor for the New York Times. Tang visited the Whitman College campus to give a speech and distribute the awards on March 28.

Nelson's article was featured in the Pioneer, Whitman College's student-run newspaper.

Nelson is the son of Chuck and Nanette Nelson from Mill Creek. He is a 2012 graduate of Archbishop Murphy High School.

At Whitman, Nelson is a first-year student, and he is a member of the varsity soccer team.
