HERKIMER, NY (12/08/2011)(readMedia)-- The National Junior College Athletic Association recently named All-American players for men's soccer.
Herkimer County Community College men's soccer player Reco McLaren, Bridgeport, CT, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major, was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) First-Team All-American. McLaren played for the Generals in all 18 games this season, with 8 goals, 21 assists and 37 points. Coach Pepe Aragon said, "Reco is one of the most explosive players I have ever coached. Not only is he exceptionally fast, he is unbelievably skilled as well. That is a powerful combination."
Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 33 national, 87 regional and 126 conference championships. Herkimer placed second in the 2010-11 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
