AUGUSTA, NJ (05/21/2009)(readMedia)-- For the past twenty years,Michael Arnone's Crawfish Fest has been bringing the sounds and taste of New Orleans and Louisiana to thousands of fans in the northeast and on May 29, 30 and 31, the Crawfish Fest comes to the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, New Jersey.
The editors of Relix Magazine have now confirmed what Crawfish Fest fans have been saying about the authenticity and excellent quality of the festival's menu. Relix Magazine's Executive Editor, Mike Greenhaus explains, "For the past several years, we have written a food guide for music festivals across the country. In addition to listening to fans and tasting the food ourselves, we speak with musicians who know the food at their performance venues. We've found that musicians consistently name the Crawfish Fest as one of their favorite places to eat." Greenhaus adds, "George Porter, New Orleans' best known bass player (Meters, Funky Meters and Porter Baptiste & Stoltz) recently told us that the Crawfish Fest offers the best New Orleans food outside of the Crescent City limits!"
The story, which appears in the June issue of Relix Magazine, lists the top five festival food venues in the country and the Crawfish Fest is among the best. Greenhaus says, "It's our job to make sure we know what's going on in the music business, and when we attend festivals across the country, we can't help but sample the menu. We love going to the Crawfish Fest. The music, the food, the fans...it's an excellent festival."
Known as the single most important Louisiana and New Orleans Style Music, Food and Camping festival north of the Mason Dixon line, the Crawfish Fest offers boiled crawfish with corn and potatoes, pork sausage and chicken Jambalaya, grilled alligator sausage, Shrimp Creole, Fried Catfish, raw oysters, Po-Boys and much more. Festival enthusiasts, who prefer a more traditional menu, may choose from grilled Portabella mushroom sandwiches, vegetarian Red Beans, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, fruit cups, sno-balls and other desserts.
