Retail Council of New York State Joins Forces with Jackson Lewis to Provide Workplace Law Services for Members

ALBANY, NY (09/01/2010)(readMedia)-- The Retail Council of New York State announced today that it has launched a partnership with Jackson Lewis LLP to provide its members with workplace law consulting services.

Jackson Lewis will provide Retail Council members with free legal advisory services in response to their questions about employment and employee benefit issues such as the hiring process, maintaining the employer-employee relationship, wage and hour compliance and providing employee benefits (such as health insurance, retirement benefits and the like). The program includes a telephone hotline for Retail Council members to call Jackson Lewis at no cost for immediate consultations on workplace-related questions.

"Jackson Lewis is a nationally renowned law firm and we are confident they will continue the outstanding level of customer service and response our members have experienced and come to expect with all of our money-saving programs," said Retail Council President and Chief Executive Officer James R. Sherin.

In addition to the telephone hotline service, Jackson Lewis will contribute informative articles on critical workplace issues affecting retailers for the Retail Council's newsletters, plus they will participate as expert presenters in the Council's growing teleseminar series on select labor topics.

"We look forward to assisting the retailers and other businesses that make up the Retail Council membership with a full range of services related to workplace law," said Richard D. Landau, a partner with Jackson Lewis. "Our experience providing solutions for hundreds of retailers small and large allows us to have a deep understanding of the difficulties retailers and small business owners face with hiring and retention, compliance with wage and hour laws and managing family and medical leave."
