Rev. Corey D. Johnson will speak in Campbellsville University's 'Dialogue on Race' chapel Oct. 19

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (10/12/2016)(readMedia)-- The Rev. Corey D. Johnson, senior pastor at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in North Memphis, Tenn., will be the speaker for Campbellsville University's "Dialogue on Race – Campus and Community" chapel service on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. EDT in the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

Everyone is invited to the free event.

Johnson has served as the CEO of the nonprofit entity called Jerusalem Resurrection Ministry that concerned itself with the holistic spiritual development of the believer and nonbeliever in exchange of common and social principals. He is the former Progressive Ohio State president and has served as a state commissioner.

He served as the administrative director of Community Health and Wellbeing at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. He is endorsed by the American Baptist Churches Inc. as an institutional chaplain.

He is board certified chaplain recognized by the Association of Professional Chaplains. He has received specialized training in the area of pediatric chaplaincy and is certified by the Pediatric Chaplain's Network. He was awarded the 2008 Outstanding African American Alumni from Memphis Theological Seminary.

Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Martin and two master's degrees from Memphis Theological Seminary. He served as an adjunct faculty at Walsh University and Malone College in Canton, Ohio.

He is also a veteran of the Gulf War as a member of the 1174th Transportation Company and served in country in combat as support for the 1st Armored Division. He is the parent of four children. He holds membership in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
