Rhinelander native honored by Marquette University's Department of Philosophy

MILWAUKEE, WI (07/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Machessa Samz, daughter of Paul and Connie Samz, was honored with the James H. Robb Memorial Award from Marquette University's Department of Philosophy. Samz graduated in May with a bachelor of arts in philosophy.

The annual James H. Robb Memorial Award was presented for the first time in 2001 to an undergraduate history of philosophy major in the graduating class selected by the philosophy faculty on the basis of academic achievement in the history of philosophy. The award honors Dr. James H. Robb, professor of philosophy from 1956-1993. The student received $100 in books of the winner's choice.

Samz was selected for the award by faculty for demonstrating outstanding achievement in the study of the history of philosophy.
