BROWNWOOD , TX (12/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Rev. Candy Smith, associate pastor of spiritual development/ministry at First Baptist Church in Richardson, was elected to Howard Payne University's Board of Trustees during the annual meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Texas in October.
Rev. Smith, a 1971 HPU graduate, will serve on the Marketing and Communications Committee. She previously served on the board from 1997 to 2009 and on HPU's President's Development Council from 2010 to 2011.
"Howard Payne University looks forward to the year ahead," said Dr. Bill Ellis, university president. "We are blessed to be led by outstanding individuals such as Rev. Smith."
