Portions of the roundtable discussion were published in the September issue of Materials Handling & Logistics. In the article, Miller discussed the importance of incorporating real world experience into the academic curriculum of supply chain programs. At Rider, Miller explained, Global Supply Chain majors are required to participate in a co-op.
"The way to get hired out of college into a supply chain organization is typically to complete a co-op, do a good job, and that leads to an offer," said Miller in a quote in the article.
Miller is also a faculty member for Global Trade Academy, an advanced resource for international supply chain management programs, for all levels of a corporation. He is also a member of several supply chain professional associations including Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and The Association for Operations Management.
Miller has more than 20 years experience in private industry working in management, operations, planning and consulting positions in distribution, manufacturing, logistics and demand management.
