HAMDEN, CT (02/18/2010)(readMedia)-- Robert E. Switz, of Wayzata Minn., received the Distinguished Alumni Award at Quinnipiac University's Winter Homecoming celebration on Feb. 6.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to alumni that have displayed outstanding leadership and achievement in their careers, have continually served their local and global community, have acted as a conduit for alumni who are looking to reconnect with the university and have displayed philanthropic loyalty and bonds with Quinnipiac.
Switz is chairman, president and CEO of ADC Telecommunications, Inc. a leading global provider of fiber connectivity, wireless coverage and capacity solutions for communications service providers.
Switz serves as a director on the boards of Micron Technology Inc., Broadcom Corp. and the Telecommunications Industry Association. He received the CFO Excellence Award from "CFO Magazine" in 1999.
Switz earned his bachelor's degree in business studies at Quinnipiac in 1969.
