Robin McCarley `86 receives Lake Forest College alumni award

LAKE FOREST, IL (09/29/2011)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College alumnus, Robin L. McCarley `86 of Prairieville, La., was awarded the Richard W. Hantke Alumni Teacher Award. The Richard W. Hantke Alumni Teacher Award is presented on those occasions when the College wishes to recognize a graduate who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the field of education. Like the educator, scholar, and gentleman that this award memorializes, Professor Richard Hantke, it honors those who have dedicated themselves to the principles of life-long learning.

McCarley is a Professor of Chemistry at Louisiana State University, where he has co-authored research grants that have brought over $20 million in research funding to LSU. McCarley has received numerous academic and teaching awards, including the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh Award in 1993, the LSU College of Basic Sciences Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2002, and the LSU Distinguished Faculty Award in 2003.
