OWENSBORO, KY (11/28/2017) Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is hosting a real-world robotics competition on Saturday, December 2 for students, ages 9-14.

FIRST Lego League (FLL) is an international robotics competition that introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society. This year's theme, FLL Hydro Dynamics, is focused on water - how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it. FLL teams will explore what might become possible when we understand what happens to our water.

Twenty-nine teams are scheduled to compete, representing schools and organizations in Kentucky and Indiana, including Chrisney Elementary School, David Turnham Educational Center, East Hardin Middle School, Hancock County Middle School, Heritage Christian School, Heritage Hills Middle School, James T. Alton Middle School, Lincoln Trail Elementary School, Luce Elementary School, Nancy Hanks Elementary School, Owensboro Catholic 4-6 Campus, Owensboro Catholic Middle School, Simpson County Schools, Sutton Elementary, and West Hardin Middle School.

Domtar and OCTC are sponsoring this year's event.
