Roger Williams University to Introduce its 10th President at 1 p.m. Today

Media urged to contact Public Affairs by 11:30 a.m. to reserve time slot for one-on-one interview with the President-Elect

BRISTOL, RI (03/29/2011)(readMedia)-- After a comprehensive search initiated in Fall 2010, Roger Williams University will announce the selection of its 10th president in a campus event this afternoon.

Members of the media are invited to attend and report on the event; reporters are welcome to capture the ceremony via video, audio and/or photography.

Shortly after the event, the President-Elect will be made available for brief one-on-one interviews. Reporters are also welcome to interview members of the RWU community for reactions to the announcement.

WHO:

A brief speaking program will feature:

• Ronald O. Champagne, Ph.D. – interim president of Roger Williams University

• Richard L. Bready – Chairman of the RWU Board of Trustees

• The President-Elect – identity to be unveiled by Chairman Bready

WHAT:

For attendees of the Roger Williams University Presidential Announcement:

• Use main RWU entrance and check in with Public Safety team at Guard House for media parking instructions

• Reporters should proceed to Global Heritage Hall Room 07 (GHH 07) to pick up credentials; head downstairs from main GHH lobby to the main atrium

• Event to start promptly at 1:00 p.m.; media encouraged to arrive by 12:45 p.m.

• Brief one-on-one interviews with President-Elect to begin at 2:00 p.m.
