Rufus King High School takes third place at MSOE

MILWAUKEE, WI (12/12/2011)(readMedia)-- A team of students from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee took third place in Milwaukee School of Engineering's annual "OP"portunity Math Conference. The team was coached by Jennifer Neuenschwander. The OP Conference gives high school students the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in academic pursuits. The competitions challenge the skills and abilities of students at all levels.

For the OP Math competition, students worked to solve problems in a number of categories including: algebra, geometry, advanced math and problem solving. There also was a team competition, in which 20 teams participated. The winning teams completed the most problems correctly. Marquette University High School (Milwaukee) took first place and Lake Forest High School (Lake Forest, Ill.) took second place in the competition.

MSOE is an independent university with about 2,500 students.
