Ryan McAtee to Perform in "Anything Goes" at West Virginia Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON, WV (02/18/2011)(readMedia)-- The Wesleyan Department of Theatre and Dance will open the spring semester with a production of the Cole Porter classic, Anything Goes.  Ryan McAtee, a senior at Buckhannon-Upshur High School,  was cast as Evelyn Oakleigh.

Set on an ocean liner bound for London, Anything Goes follows the madcap antics of stowaway Billy Crocker as he tries to win the hand of heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Sir Evelyn Oakleigh. Billy enlists nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Moonface Martin, Public Enemy #13, in his efforts. With their help, the ship is full of mistaken identities, mischief, and mayhem – along with some of Cole Porter's most famous musical numbers, including; "Anything Goes", "Friendship", "Delovely", and "You're the Top".

Anything Goes is directed by Thomas Schoffler, with music direction by Katie and Adam Loudin, choreography by Donald Laney, scenic design by Nathan Elsener, lighting design by Ben VanDenBerg, and costume design by Rebecca Britner.

Anything Goes will run February 24, 25, and 26 at 8 p.m. and February 27 at 2 p.m. in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts. The box office will open one hour prior to the show time, and ticket prices are as follows: $3.00 for WVWC students, faculty, and staff (with ID); $5.00 for non – WVWC students and seniors over 60; and $7.00 for adults.
