Wesley Hughes Inducted into Wesleyan's Phi Kappa Phi Chapter

BUCKHANNON, WV (02/23/2011)(readMedia)-- Nine outstanding students were recently inducted into the West Virginia Wesleyan Phi Kappa Phi Chapter. Wesley Hughes of Damascus, is a physics major at Wesleyan.

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society. Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on 300 select college and university campuses in North America and the Philippines. Membership is by invitation only to the top ten percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors. The Society's mission is "to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others."

West Virginia Wesleyan is a private four-year residential liberal arts college that offers over 40 majors and 40 minors of study. Wesleyan's graduation and retention rates are consistently among the highest in the state as well as the academic profile of its entering students.
