Ryan Rivas Presents Summer Research Project at Hampden-Sydney

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (09/16/2013)(readMedia)-- Hampden-Sydney College junior Ryan Reagan Rivas recently presented his Summer Research Project in a public presentation at the College. Ryan is one of a select group of students who undertake summer research in conjunction with members of the Hampden-Sydney faculty. Each project is evaluated on its originality, on the thoroughness of its research methods, and on the quality of its findings.

Ryan's project was entitled, "Why the Object We See is the Same Object We Touch (And Why This is Not as Obvious as One Might Think)." A philosophy major, he is a graduate of Massaponax High School and is the son of Richard & Kathleen Rivas of Fredericksburg.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally in the top 100 of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
