SUNY Canton Names New Vice President for Advancement

CANTON, NY (11/02/2015)(readMedia)-- Anne M. Sibley was recently appointed as vice president for advancement and executive director of the Canton College Foundation at SUNY Canton.

She will be responsible for leading advancement and alumni affairs activities and personnel, as well as developing fundraising strategies to support the college's mission and priorities.

Since 2007 she has served as director of planned giving for St. Lawrence University, managing a broad program that included soliciting donors, stewarding the legacy society and producing marketing materials to promote planned giving opportunities.

Sibley was also St. Lawrence University's associate director of major gifts from 2003 to 2007. In addition she served on several university strategic planning committees. She will be starting her new position at SUNY Canton Nov. 30.

"I'm looking forward to the skills and drive Anne will be bringing to the Advancement Office and our college," said SUNY Canton President Zvi Szafran. "This year the college awarded more than $302,000 in student scholarships and will be funding numerous faculty- and staff-led initiatives. Our hope is to expand the foundation's reach even farther in upcoming years."

Sibley is returning to SUNY Canton after serving in several leadership roles from 1987 to 2000, including director of public relations, senior assistant to the president, and director of sponsored research and programs.

"Securing funding for scholarships and program enhancements is important for the continued growth of SUNY Canton," Sibley said. "I look forward to working with the great team in the Advancement Office and getting to know the alumni."

She is active in the community and is currently the chair of the Grasse River Heritage Area Development Corporation's fundraising committee.

Sibley earned a master's degree in Educational Administration and bachelor's degrees in Biology and English Literature from St. Lawrence University. She resides in Colton with her husband, Chip Jenkins, and their three children.
