SUNY Canton Offers Security Guard Training Classes

CANTON, NY (03/03/2010)(readMedia)-- The SUNY Canton Center for Lifelong Learning will be offering classes for security guards and for aspiring security guards.

The College will be offering a pre-assignment course and eight-hour in-service training course. All courses are approved by the Office of Public Safety and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and are mandated by the New York State Security Guard Act of 1992. University Police Deputy Chief Steven L. Livernois will be leading the classes.

An eight-hour pre-assignment training course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 20 in SUNY Canton Payson Hall Room 111. The course costs $85 and all class materials are included.
