SUNY Delhi Introduces Online Graduate Degree in Nursing Administration

DELHI, NY (07/21/2017) (readMedia)-- SUNY Delhi is proud to introduce a new online master's degree program focusing on nursing administration. The Master of Science: Nursing Administration program, beginning this fall, will prepare students to work as nurse managers or directors in health care settings.

"SUNY Delhi has an exceptional record of delivering innovative online instruction," said Mary Pat Lewis, Dean of SUNY Delhi's School of Nursing. "We are excited to add this program alongside our online Master of Nursing Education and our nationally recognized online RN to BSN program as we continue to assess and respond to the needs of the health care community."

With the increasing complexity of managing patient care in modern health care settings, nurse managers require a skill set cultivated at the graduate level. Human resource management, budget and finance, strategic planning, and experiential learning are essential to being a productive, knowledgeable, and efficient administrator.

The new program draws from various disciplines including nursing and business to prepare graduates to assume health care leadership positions, with classes taught by highly credentialed nursing faculty who are leaders in online education. In addition to preparing nurses to attain administrative positions, the program also provides an excellent foundation for doctoral studies.

The flexible online format, with two seven-week sessions per semester, is designed to allow nurses to complete the program around demanding work schedules. It can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. GREs are not required for admission.

SUNY Delhi was recently ranked 10th among the Best Online Colleges in New York by Affordable Colleges for its flexibility, personal attention to students and experienced faculty. The RN to BSN program has been ranked among the best in the country by Great College Deals and U.S. News and World Report.
