PLATTSBURGH, NY (08/31/2009)(readMedia)-- Entrepreneurs are invited to participate in a two-session seminar that will introduce QuickBooks accounting software and assist entrepreneurs in properly setting up their company accounts.
The seminars are sponsored by the New York State Small Business Development Center at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh, the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce, and Abbott, Frenyea, Russell and Coffey, CPAs. Rick Leibowitz, regional director of the North Country SBDC, will present the seminars with assistance from the certified public accounting firm.
The first "Getting Started with QuickBooks®" class will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the second class will follow on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Both will be held at the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce, 7061 Route 9, Plattsburgh.
In the Sept. 16 seminar, attendees will experience hands-on assistance from knowledgeable professionals in how to set up QuickBooks® in order to meet the needs of their particular businesses. Each attendee will have the opportunity to develop their individual chart of accounts and also find out what information should be gathered for the second session.
Then on Thursday, Sept. 24, attendees will apply all they learned in the first session. They will also begin entering their business information into QuickBooks®. Attendees will be assisted again by professionals knowledgeable in setting up company data properly and who will ensure that attendees are comfortable entering business transactions into QuickBooks®.
Attendees at the Sept. 24 session are asked to bring their own laptop with the QuickBooks® software program installed. The SBDC will have laptops on hand for attendees who do not have a laptop with the software. They are asked to bring a flash drive to save the company data, however.
The fee for this series is $70. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required. To register, contact the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber at 518-563-1000.
