POTSDAM, N.Y. (02/01/2011)(readMedia)-- The Potsdam athletic department, in conjunction with the alumni relations and residence life offices, will host the eighth annual Bear Pride Night as part of the women's and men's basketball doubleheader against Cortland, which begins at 6 p.m.
All fans in attendance will be eligible to win prizes throughout the evening as well as participate in the signature event of the night, the "Sears Shootout," a shooting contest sponsored by Potsdam Sears, which will be held at halftime of the men's game. The winner of the shootout will take home a 42-inch flat screen television.
Other promotions include the Subway sub-eating competition and t-shirt launching sponsored by Great Northern Printing.
"Great Northern Printing, Subway and Sears have stepped up to provide the signature event for a night that will generate a lot of excitement," Potsdam assistant athletic director Bill Mitchell said. "This has become one of the premiere winter sports evenings in the North Country."
Admission is free for all alumni and their families by visiting the alumni "Will Call" booth located near the Maxcy Hall ticket window. Admission is also free for all area high school students who wear their school colors.
