SUNY Potsdam Welcoming Nearly 600 Alumni for Reunion Weekend

SUNY Potsdam Alumni Raise More Than $4 Million for 2015 Reunion, Including Record 50-Year Club Giving

POTSDAM, NY (07/03/2015)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam will welcome nearly 600 alumni and friends back to campus during the College's 2015 Reunion Weekend, from Thursday, July 9 to Sunday, July 12.

It's another milestone year for class giving, as the campus gears up for reunion celebrations. SUNY Potsdam alumni and friends have given a total of $4,150,032 in honor of 2015 class reunions, as of June 30.

Nine classes have exceeded their class giving goals, including:

  • The Class of 2010, celebrating its 5th Reunion
  • The Class of 2000, celebrating its 15th Reunion
  • The Class of 1995, celebrating its 20th Reunion
  • The Class of 1990, celebrating its 25th Reunion
  • The Class of 1980, celebrating its 35th Reunion
  • The Class of 1975, celebrating its 40th Reunion
  • The Class of 1970, celebrating its 45th Reunion
  • The Class of 1965, celebrating its 50th Reunion

Most notably, the 50-Year Club has set a giving record this year, raising $3,574,706 in class gifts as of June 30-far surpassing the club's initial $1,250,000 goal. The 50-Year Club is comprised of all classes from 1965 and earlier. This giving includes both outright gifts and the establishment of funds through planned or estate giving.

Many alumni honor their reunion celebration by going above and beyond their typical annual giving. All gifts from each class, regardless of designation, are counted in each class's reunion total. Gifts to the College's greatest needs support a variety of vital resources and financial support for research, student travel, equipment, technology, scholarships and so much more.

Generous gifts from alumni show the great value they place on the education they received at SUNY Potsdam, and the College's important role in preparing them for success in life.

It's not too late to register for SUNY Potsdam Reunion Weekend! All SUNY Potsdam alumni and friends are invited to join in the festivities.
