Free Event Includes Panels about Admissions & Student Life, as well as College Fair

POTSDAM, NY (02/02/2012)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam will host College 101, a free event designed for high school juniors and seniors and their parents as they start to think about applications, financial aid and more.

College 101 will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the atrium of SUNY Potsdam's Barrington Student Union. College 101 is co-sponsored by the Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley: Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton.

High schools from throughout the North Country have been invited to bring interested students to the event.

The 90-minute program will give high school students the opportunity to interact with college professionals and current college students via three sessions. These sessions are an admissions panel with admissions counselors from the four colleges, a student panel and a college fair.

The college fair will include representatives from 13 universities, as well as from the U.S. Army and Air Force ROTC.

The event is free, but registration is required. To register, please contact Melissa Evans, assistant director of admission at SUNY Potsdam, at evansmj@potsdam.edu or (315) 267-3458.
