LA MIRADA, CA (03/17/2014)(readMedia)-- SAN JOSE, Calif. --- Cameron Backman, a homeschooled student out of San Jose, Calif, has committed to play tennis for Head Coach David Goodman at Biola University.
Backman is a talented player who is ranked in the top-70 high school boys in California by www.tennisrecruiting.net. He is also in the top-500 nationwide.
"Cameron is a highly-talented tennis player who will add depth in our lineup," said Goodman. "He is a great fit for Biola and should compete for one of the top spots on the team. I think he will help take this program to the next level."
Backman has been among the top 600 tennis recruits in the nation since his freshman year, and broke into the top-500 beginning his sophomore season.
He will join Biola's team next spring and will enter the university in the fall to study kinesiology.
"I look forward to developing spiritually, improving athletically and learning more about athletic training and injury rehabilitation during my time at Biola," said Backman. "I have met numerous graduates from Biola, and each has said nothing but positive things about the school."
