Sandra Matsevilo of Des Moines Participates in National Journalism Conference

WALLA WALLA, WA (11/30/2011)(readMedia)-- Sandra Matsevilo of Des Moines, Wash. was one of eight Whitman College students who participated in the 90th Annual Associated Collegiate Press National College Media Convention in Orlando, Fla.

The conference had over 2300 attendees from colleges and universities across the country. Conference-goers take part in workshops on print journalism, web journalism, publishing magazines and radio broadcasting. Participants also receive feedback and awards for their school publications.

Matsevilo, the daughter of Nina and Serge Matsevilo of Des Moines, is a sophomore philosophy major at Whitman. She is a features writer for The Pioneer, Whitman's student newspaper.
