Sara Garvey wins scholarship award from Tourism Cares
PHILADELPHIA, PA (07/06/2011)(readMedia)-- Sara Garvey of Pawcatuck, Conn., was recently named one of 62 students across the U.S. and Canada to receive an academic scholarship from Tourism Cares, the tourism industry's premier charitable organization for preservation, conservation, restoration and education.
Garvey, a junior at Temple University's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), is invited to attend the Tourism Cares "Experience the Industry" student program at the annual NTA Convention, Dec. 5-9, 2011, in Las Vegas.
Tourism Cares selected Garvey from a competitive pool of hundreds of travel, tourism and hospitality students. The scholarships are funded by the American Society of Travel Agents, the International Airlines Travel Agent Network and NTA, the leading association for professionals serving travelers to, from and within North America.
