GETTYSBURG, PA (04/06/2012)(readMedia)-- GETTYSBURG, PA (04/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Sara Smigen of Niskayuna and Kyleigh Grim of Biglerville, PA, both Seniors at Gettysburg College presented a senior recital on March 3 in Gettysburg College's Paul Recital Hall located in Schmucker Hall on the Gettysburg College campus. In this joint recital, Ms. Grim and Ms. Smigen sang a variety of arts songs and arias, ranging in style from classical to modern and including English, French, German, Italian, and Russian. Featured composers included Richard Strauss, Sergei Rachmaninoff, W.A. Mozart, Peter Warlock and Lee Hoiby, with opera duets and trios from works such as Don Giovanni and Der Rosenkavalier.
Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania within a couple hours drive of four major metropolitan areas.
