Sarah Hannah Newman Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

SPARTANBURG, SC (04/28/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Sarah Hannah Newman was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, April 22, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Sarah Hannah is a cabinet member of Twin Towers, vice president of Rotaract, a member of the Blue Key Honor Society, was a Junior Marshall and studied abroad in Vienna, Austria. Along with participating in philanthropies on campus, Sarah Hannah has excelled as a scholar and researcher. She received a Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, an Anna Todd Wofford Scholarship, a Lewis P. Jones Scholarship, and a William Brabham Scholarship, and was a fellow in the 2009 Community of Scholars. Sarah Hannah is currently completing an honors thesis in history. Upon receiving her B.A. in history in May 2010, Sarah Hannah will begin studying for her master's degree in international hospitality and tourism at the University of South Carolina and will be enrolled in a separate program at the Culinary and Wine Institute of South Carolina. Twenty-nine Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 69th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
