MARIETTA, OH (09/23/2011)(readMedia)-- Sarah Kelly, who was President of Ohio University's Student Alumni Board, recently joined Marietta College's Office of Alumni Relations as an Assistant Director of Chapter and Young Alumni Programs.
Kelly's job entails, "building effective, rewarding and sustainable chapters that will engage alumni and provide them with an outlet to stay connected to the College and she also provides more opportunities for young alumni to remain connected to the College after graduation."
Kelly officially started at the College on Sept. 12, and she is a member of the Advancement Department.
"While working on creating and managing chapters we will continue to develop new ideas to connect current students and younger alumni to the College," she said. "Working with the Student Alumni Association (SAA), creating campus events to build awareness, and creating young alumni chapters within chapters will be the focus for this part of the position."
Kelly says she is most looking forward to being a part of the Marietta College team. She enjoys building things from the ground up and is dedicated to building sustainable regional chapters and forming relationships with the volunteers and alumni she comes in contact with.
Kelly, who is originally from Hudson, Ohio, graduated from Ohio University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with concentrated areas in Organizational Communication and Public Advocacy and a Certificate in Global Leadership.
While at Ohio University, Kelly worked with its Alumni Association, and she was active in the Global Leadership Center. In 2010, Kelly received the Edwin L. Kennedy Leadership Award and the Pepsi Ohio University Campus Leadership Scholarship. In 2011, she earned the Outstanding Senior Leader Award.
