HARRISBURG, PA (09/30/2010)(readMedia)-- The Pa. Satellite News Service will provide a 4 p.m. satellite feed today covering the statewide launch of a new Pennsylvania Turnpike safety-awareness campaign aimed at reducing texting-related crashes on PA toll highways.
Officials unveiled the new "no-texting" signs at the Turnpike's Central Administration Building, 700 South Eisenhower Blvd., Harrisburg.
The new messages were unveiled on the eve of the Turnpike's 70th Anniversary; the toll road opened on Oct. 1, 1940. Officials from Pennsylvania State Police, the AAA Central Penn auto club and the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association joined in the announcement.
