MON/FAYETTE EXP., W. VA. (07/11/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pa. Satellite News Service will provide a 3:45 p.m. satellite feed today of the following news event: The West Virginia Division of Highways held a ribbon cutting this morning to mark the opening of the Mon/Fayette Expressway. The 10:30 a.m. event took place on the expressway approximately two miles north of the Cheat Lake/Fairchance Road exit of Interstate 68. Shortly after, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission planned another ribbon cutting to open the 2-mile stretch of expressway north of the state line that will join the new, 4-mile West Virginia section with the 6-mile Pennsylvania section, known as the Mason-Dixon Link, which originally opened March 1, 2000. (The 2-mile section south of the Gans Road Exit #M2 was constructed in 2000 but remained closed pending completion of the West Virginia portion.)
