Saxophonist Robert Young Performs in Upcoming Crane Faculty Recital

POTSDAM, NY (10/08/2013)(readMedia)-- The Crane School of Music Faculty Recital Series will continue on Monday, Oct. 21, with a concert featuring saxophonist Robert Young at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.
The performance will include works by David Heinick, Ching-Mei Lin and Mischa Zupko, as well as a world premiere work by Crane's newest composer, Jerod Sommerfeldt. This program will feature exciting contemporary saxophone repertoire from of the 20th and 21st centuries.
This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
The recital will feature Robert Young, performing alongside David Heinick on piano, Jarod Sommerfeldt on live electronics and Kyle Peters on marimba.
About the performer:
Dr. Robert Young joined the faculty of The Crane School of Music in the fall of 2012. Young earned his Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in saxophone performance from the University of Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone performance from the University of South Carolina.
