Schneiderman Endorses Zeldin for Congress
Candidate Adds Another Name to Already Impressive Tally
MASTIC, NY (05/16/2008)(readMedia)-- The presumptive Republican candidate for New York's First Congressional District today picked up another major endorsement from an influential Suffolk County leader.
In a release announcing the endorsement (Excerpt follows), Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman, representing the Second Legislative District, cited GOP Candidate Lee Zeldin's leadership and commitment to important issues facing our community.
"...At a time when too many of our residents find it harder than ever to remain on Long Island, Lee is committed to addressing our region's increasing cost of living and the difficult burden it places on our many seniors, young people, and working families. He strongly opposes the profligate taxing and spending policies of Congress, which has cost Long Islanders their hard-earned dollars. If elected, Lee would seek an end to wasteful spending and to permanently extend the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003.
Lee also has an understanding of national issues indispensable for a congressional representative. I am most impressed by his distinguished record of military service and his demonstrated commitment to the welfare of the brave men and women who wear the uniform of the Armed Forces..."
"I'm honored to accept Legislator Schneiderman's endorsement," said Zeldin. "By adding another well respected community leader to the campaign, Eastern Long Island can soon be able to reclaim our voice in Congress."
Schneiderman's release follows.
