Science Educator George Steele Leads Owl Prowl
At Landis Arboretum for Mid-January Winter Fun
ESPERANCE, NY (12/31/2007)(readMedia)-- Schoharie County’s Landis Arboretum is the place to be on Saturday, January 19 for an early evening Winter Owl Prowl under the skilled guidance of area science educator George Steele. The program takes place between 7 – 8 PM. Suggested free-will donation, $5.
Nature enthusiasts and the curious are invited to explore the winter woods in hopes of hearing or seeing owls and are cautioned to dress for the cold winter night. Prowlers will meet Mr. Steele at the Arboretum Meeting House, and proceed along the Woodland Trail before returning to the point of origin for some hot chocolate. Whoooo! knows what will be seen and heard? A perfect way to end the day. Interested prowlers are invited to call ahead if they plan to attend.
About George Steele George Steele is a seasoned and award-winning environmental education consultant and a popular guide at Landis, the Capital Region’s Arboretum. Since 1992 he was worked with a wide range of programs for children’s summer camps, museums, nature centers, outdoor education centers, state agencies, libraries, and schools throughout the Northeast.
