HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 25, Hampden-Sydney College senior Scott David Clayton received the John Marshall Award for Excellence in Writing in Political Science, presented by Dr. Warner R. Winborne, H-SC Class of 1988, and Associate Professor of Government & Foreign Affairs. The John Marshall Writing Award honors a senior who has exhibited excellence in writing on foreign affairs.
Scott serves as a Resident Advisor and is a member of the Big Brothers Mentor Program. He recently received the James Madison Public Service Certificate from the Wilson Center for Leadership and Honors for his government project, "How loud is Nantucket Sound? Should Cape Wind be Constructed on Nantucket Sound?" A government major, Scott graduated from Culver Academies in Culver, IN, and is the son of Laurie & Wayne Clayton of Scottsdale.
