Seattle Native Claire Matsunami Helps Homeless Women

WALLA WALLA, WA (10/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Seattle native Claire Matsunami is helping homeless women get back on their feet at the Step to Emerging Possibilities (STEP) shelter through the Whitman College Community Fellows program. STEP shelters homeless women in the Walla Walla community and works with them individually to overcome obstacles and achieve financial stability.

Matsunami is the daughter of Stacey Neble and Michael Matsunami from Kenmore, Wash. She is a 2009 graduate of Shorecrest High School.

At Whitman, Matsunami is a senior religion major. She is also involved in the Voices for Planned Parenthood, Challah for Hunger and Voter Registration programs.
